Profhilo vs Rejuran: under-eye skin booster comparison of ingredients, evidence grade and 2026 Singapore price

Overview

Profhilo and Rejuran are both marketed as skin boosters, but they differ in composition and in the area each is designed to treat. Profhilo contains a high concentration of hyaluronic acid (HA), 64 mg in 2 ml, combining high-molecular-weight and low-molecular-weight HA without a chemical cross-linker, and it is injected at five points on each side of the face, none of them around the eye. Its Singapore registration covers the face, and no published study has tested it under the eyes (Grade D for the under-eye). Rejuran I is a polynucleotide (PN) booster formulated for the eye area, and small studies show thicker, smoother skin around the eyes after treatment (Grade C). Rejuran I is therefore the better-supported choice under the eyes, whereas Profhilo suits overall hydration and mild laxity of the cheeks, jawline and neck. In Singapore in 2026, Profhilo costs S$700 to 1,500 per 2 ml syringe over two sessions a month apart, and Rejuran I costs from S$500 per syringe over three sessions.

  • Profhilo is concentrated hyaluronic acid, whereas Rejuran I contains polynucleotides from salmon DNA
  • Grade C under the eyes for Rejuran I, Grade D for Profhilo, which has no under-eye study
  • Profhilo's standard five injection points per side avoid the eye area
  • Profhilo S$700 to 1,500 per syringe over two sessions, Rejuran I from S$500 over three sessions
  • Both cause 1 to 3 days of bumps, and Profhilo can cause lower-lid swelling when injected near the eye
  • No study has compared Profhilo with Rejuran
Introduction

Singapore clinics often offer Profhilo and Rejuran side by side as skin boosters for tired-looking under-eyes, although the two are made of different materials and designed for different areas. This comparison covers the contents of each, the studies around the eyes and on the face, and the 2026 prices.

How Profhilo and Rejuran work

  • Profhilo Long and short chains of HA are heated together into stable “hybrid cooperative complexes” rather than bonded with a chemical cross-linker. Because the resulting gel is fluid, it spreads from each injection point through the surrounding tissue, which is why only five points per side are used. The HA binds water and hydrates the skin. Laboratory studies suggest that the complexes also stimulate collagen and elastin, although the main laboratory paper now carries an expression of concern from its journal. Profhilo Structura is a separate, thicker product designed to restore the fat compartment of the lateral cheek.
  • Rejuran I Polynucleotides are DNA fragments purified from salmon. When injected as many small droplets into the dermis, they are proposed to act as a scaffold for tissue repair and to stimulate fibroblasts, the cells that produce collagen. Because Rejuran I adds no meaningful volume, its effect is limited to skin thickness, elasticity and fine lines.

Profhilo vs Rejuran under the eyes

Under the eyes, the evidence favours Rejuran I, which is formulated for the area, over Profhilo, which has not been studied there.

  • Profhilo is not designed for the under-eye The standard technique places 0.2 ml at five points per side, located over the cheekbone, beside the nostril, in front of the ear, at the marionette line and at the angle of the jaw. None of these points lies around the eye. Its Singapore registration covers “treatment of the face” without naming the eye area, and no study has tested it under the eyes. The nearest report, a series of three patients treated on the upper third of the face, describes less eyelid wrinkling but also lower-lid swelling and a bruise that took 2 to 7 days to settle. The lead author of that report holds a speaking contract with the product’s Brazilian distributor.
  • Rejuran I is made for the eye area Lower-lid and crow’s-feet scores improved for up to 3 months after two sessions in a prospective study of 42 patients, and pigmentation became milder after three injections in an open-label study of 61 patients treated for periorbital darkness. Neither study had a control group, and both tested polynucleotides in general rather than Rejuran I specifically.
  • The closest head-to-head evidence A randomised split-face trial that enrolled 27 patients compared a PN product with a non-cross-linked HA product around the eyes over three sessions. Overall improvement was similar on both sides, whereas the PN side improved more in skin roughness and pore volume. Because the abstract does not name the HA product, the trial cannot be read as a direct comparison of Profhilo with Rejuran.

Some clinics inject small amounts of Profhilo under the eyes. Swelling is the main concern there, because the product draws in water and spreads, and the loose tissue of the lower lid readily retains fluid. A hollow tear trough usually requires filler rather than either booster, and those options are compared in Sunken eyes treatment in Singapore.

Profhilo vs Rejuran for the face and skin quality

  • EvidenceEvidence for Profhilo on the face. Wrinkle and volume-loss scores improved after two sessions in an open-label study of 64 women aged 38 to 60 and remained significantly better 16 weeks from the start, with minor injection-site reactions in 23%. A study of 30 Chinese women at Singapore’s National Skin Centre, with manufacturer co-authors, found better hydration and less water loss from the skin at 12 weeks. Two small randomised trials were less favourable. In a split-face trial around the mouth, 12 women had fewer wrinkles and smaller pores, but the gain in dermal thickness did not exceed that of a saline placebo, and 55% were dissatisfied with the outcome. In a trial on the upper face, adding Profhilo to Botox gave no additional benefit in 20 patients.
  • Rejuran on the face Rejuran is also injected across the cheeks for texture and enlarged pores, a use outside the scope of this eye-area guide.

Profhilo is designed for hydration and mild laxity across the cheeks and jaw, whereas Rejuran I is designed for the thin skin under the eyes.

Profhilo vs Rejuran price in Singapore (2026)

Product Per session Usual course Course total
Profhilo S$700 to 1,500 per 2 ml syringe 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart S$1,400 to 3,000
Rejuran I From S$500 per syringe (S$388 to 900) 3 sessions, 2 to 4 weeks apart S$1,200 to 2,700

Course totals are similar, because the higher syringe price of Profhilo is offset by its shorter course. Several Singapore clinics list Profhilo under a generic name such as “5-point HA skin booster” or “HA 5-point lift”, so a quote that names the product and confirms the 2 ml, 64 mg specification identifies what is being injected. Rejuran is sometimes listed as a “PN” eye booster or a polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) eye booster, labels that may cover a different polynucleotide brand.

Profhilo vs Rejuran side effects

  • Profhilo Small bumps form at the five injection points and flatten within a day or two, and bruising and swelling occur occasionally. Worldwide post-marketing data from 2018 to 2023 recorded 371 adverse events among an estimated 1.09 million patients (0.034%), mostly swelling, redness and discomfort. Manufacturer employees co-authored the analysis.
  • Rejuran I Bumps along the injection lines last 1 to 2 days, and bruising occurs occasionally. The randomised PN trial around the eyes reported no serious adverse events. Because Rejuran is made from salmon DNA, a fish allergy should be disclosed to the doctor before treatment.

Can you combine Profhilo and Rejuran?

Clinics commonly combine the two, with Profhilo injected across the cheeks and jaw for overall hydration and Rejuran I under the eyes for thin skin. This division follows the design of each product, but no study has tested the combination (Grade D). A combined treatment plan should state which product is injected where and how the sessions are spaced.

Which lasts longer, Profhilo or Rejuran?

The effect of Profhilo is reported to last up to about 6 months after the two-session course. The duration of Rejuran I is not documented beyond 3 months, because the polynucleotide studies follow patients for no longer than that. Clinics advise a maintenance session about every 6 months for either product. Juvelook, which contains slowly absorbed poly-D,L-lactic acid (PDLLA) particles, is compared with Rejuran in Juvelook vs Rejuran.

Profhilo or Rejuran by under-eye and facial concern

  • Thin, crepey or bluish under-eye skin Rejuran I is the better-supported option, because it is formulated for the eye area and has small supporting studies (Grade C).
  • Dull, dehydrated skin and mild laxity across the cheeks and jaw. Profhilo suits this pattern, because its gel spreads across the cheeks and jaw from five points per side.
  • Both concerns Profhilo can be used on the face and Rejuran I under the eyes, although the combination is untested.
  • Loose under-eye skin Neither booster tightens loose skin. Radiofrequency is compared on Sagging skin under eyes treatment, and treatments for dark circles on Dark eye circles treatment in Singapore.

Frequently asked questions about Profhilo and Rejuran

Can Profhilo be used under the eyes?

Some clinics inject small amounts of Profhilo under the eyes, although no study has tested it there, its standard injection points avoid the eye area, and its Singapore registration covers the face in general. Swelling of the lower lid is the main concern, because the gel draws in water in an area that already retains fluid readily.

Is Profhilo or Rejuran better for dark circles?

Rejuran I is the better choice for blue dark circles, in which the underlying muscle and veins show through thin skin, because it is formulated for the eye area and is supported by small studies. Profhilo has no dark-circle data, and neither product removes brown pigment.

How many sessions of Profhilo or Rejuran are needed?

Profhilo is given as two sessions four weeks apart, and Rejuran I usually as three sessions two to four weeks apart. Both are then repeated about every six months as maintenance.

Does Profhilo or Rejuran last longer?

Profhilo is reported to last up to about six months, whereas the duration of Rejuran I is not documented beyond the three months of study follow-up. Clinics advise maintenance every six months for both.

Can I have Profhilo and Rejuran together?

Many clinics combine Profhilo on the face with Rejuran I under the eyes. Because no study has tested the combination, the benefit of each product is judged separately.
